X WORD AND SACRAMENT WORSHIP X
Worship at Good
Shepherd is centered around Word and Sacrament. We take
the inspired Word of God very seriously as it is revealed to us in the
errorless Scriptures. Jesus said, "If you hold to my teaching, you are really my
disciples" (John 8:31). In our worship we look to
meditate upon those teachings in Scripture, which assure us of our
eternal salvation and give us comfort and guidance in our lives as
Christians.
Worship at Good Shepherd is also sacramental. Currently we celebrate Holy Communion on the first and third Sundays of every month. In this sacrament Jesus gives us his very own body and blood for the forgiveness of our sins.
We also baptize infants and adults. Through this powerful sacrament of rebirth and renewal God offers and gives free forgiveness and a new life in Christ.
X LITURGICAL WORSHIP X
The worship practices at Good Shepherd are in line with the liturgical worship practices of the Christian church. Every Sunday we follow one of four liturgical orders of service as found in our hymnal, Christian Worship: A Lutheran Hymnal. These orders of service offer freshness and variety while also providing consistency and familiarity.
